Jungle Play: Opening of Bright Days Education

The newly-opened Bright Days Early Education at Herston, Queensland is visionary in its concept, size and facilities and sets a new benchmark in play and early learning excellence in Australia. Jungle Play was involved from the outset in the design and realisation of the numerous playspaces featured throughout the three levels of the Bright Days ELC.

The vibrant and epic rooftop playspace is divided into themed areas specifically designed to engage, enthral and challenge children and stimulate creativity, imagination and the development of physical skills.

Meal times are made magical in the Toadstool Garden with five Mushroom Table and Chair Sets for dining, towering Giant Toadstool umbrellas and a custom-painted Mushroom Playhouse for maximum fun.

The western zone of the rooftop embraces a jungle theme brought to life by the Treehouse, Hollow Log Tunnel and Climber and the Gum Leaf Pod and provides endless opportunities for both active and imaginative play. Two Gum Leaf Tables provide whimsical (and practical) table settings for both meals and craft activities.

The northern zone of the playspace has a prehistoric theme featuring the impressive Turtle Cubby Climber affording children myriad opportunities for climbing and jumping. The spotted interior of the turtle’s domed body provides a semi-contained space for quiet play and group.

Just a few metres away is the much-loved snoozing Mimni Climbersaurus and mini Minmi baby facilitate children myriad opportunities to crawl, climb and commune with their prehistoric friends.  Anatomically correct prehistoric fossils hidden beneath the extensive sandpits encourage excavation, exploration and the delight of discovery.
