Privacy Policy

1. About Education Australia
1.1 This Privacy Policy sets out how Creative Edge Australia ABN 77 652 655 699, trading as Education Australia (Education Australia), collects, uses, discloses and manages personal information. In this Privacy Policy, Site means educationaus.net.au, and individual means any person whose personal information Education Australia handles.
1.2 Education Australia is an independent consultancy operating nationally across the Australian education sector. Education Australia advises education institutions on relevant funding opportunities and grants, and independently vets suppliers against its assessment standards. Through its Preferred Supplier Program, Education Australia connects education institutions with approved suppliers, enabling institutions to access trusted providers and make effective use of available funding.
1.3 Education Australia handles personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
2. Personal Information Collected
2.1 EduAccess subscribers. Education Australia collects the name, job title, institution, work email address and telephone number, login credentials, subscription and billing history, and records of feature usage of EduAccess subscribers. Payment card details are processed by Education Australia's payment processor, Stripe. Education Australia does not store full card numbers.
2.2 Suppliers and Preferred Supplier applicants. Education Australia collects contact details, business details, information provided in applications and signed agreements, and records of dealings with suppliers and applicants to the Preferred Supplier Program.
2.3 Education sector contacts. Education Australia collects the name, role, institution and work contact details of decision-makers at education institutions only when those individuals provide them directly, such as when making an enquiry or requesting to join the Education Australia network. This information is used to send funding information and the Funding & Resource Guide.
2.4 Eddie. Questions submitted to Eddie, and the responses Eddie provides, are stored in cookies on the individual's own device. Education Australia does not retain a copy of these conversations on its systems. Individuals may delete their conversation history at any time by clearing the cookies in their browser.
2.5 Enquiries and giveaways. Education Australia collects the details provided by any individual who contacts Education Australia or enters a giveaway.
2.6 Website visitors. Education Australia collects information about pages viewed, links clicked, device and browser type, approximate location and the means by which visitors reached the Site, using cookies and similar technologies (see section 5).
2.7 Children and students. Education Australia does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Student information must not be entered on the Site or into Eddie.
3. Use of Personal Information
3.1 Education Australia uses personal information to:
- provide EduAccess and manage subscriptions and payments;
- administer the Preferred Supplier Program and associated supplier agreements;
- send funding updates, the Funding & Resource Guide and newsletters, including Preferred Supplier updates, to education sector contacts;
- respond to enquiries and administer giveaways;
- improve the Site, Eddie and Education Australia's services, and understand how they are used;
- measure the reach of Preferred Supplier Program activity for aggregate reporting to suppliers; and
- comply with its legal obligations.
4. Email Communications
4.1 Education Australia's electronic communications comply with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). Every email includes an unsubscribe facility, and individuals may also request at any time, by contacting Education Australia, that communications cease.
4.2 Education Australia does not sell personal information and does not provide its contact lists to suppliers. Preferred Supplier updates are sent by Education Australia directly.
4.3 Education Australia does not disclose any supplier's contact details or results to other suppliers or prospective suppliers.
5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
5.1 The Site uses cookies and similar technologies to maintain login sessions, remember user preferences and understand how the Site is used. These include:
- Google Analytics, to measure which pages are visited and how visitors reach the Site; and
- Meta Pixel and LinkedIn Insight Tag, to measure visits originating from Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn, and to display relevant content on those platforms.
5.2 Individuals may block or delete cookies through their browser settings, and may opt out of personalised advertising through their Google, Meta and LinkedIn account settings. Blocking cookies may prevent some features of the Site, such as remaining logged in, from functioning.
6. Disclosure of Personal Information
6.1 Education Australia discloses personal information only to:
- service providers engaged to support its operations, including website hosting, payment processing (Stripe), email delivery (Vision6), analytics and the AI service that powers Eddie (Chatbase), each of which may use the information solely to provide its services to Education Australia;
- professional advisers, such as accountants and lawyers;
- government and regulatory authorities, where required by law; and
- a prospective purchaser of Education Australia's business, in the event of a sale.
7. Overseas Disclosure
7.1 Some of Education Australia's service providers store or process personal information outside Australia. Education Australia takes reasonable steps to ensure that those providers protect personal information in a manner consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.
8. Security and Retention
8.1 Education Australia holds personal information electronically and, where necessary, in hard copy, and takes reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Safeguards include confidentiality obligations and security training for staff, controlled access to systems, firewalls and anti-virus protection, and the destruction or de-identification of information that is no longer required.
8.2 Education Australia retains personal information only for as long as it is required for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy or as required by law.
9. Access and Correction
9.1 Individuals may request access to the personal information Education Australia holds about them, or request that it be corrected or deleted, by contacting Education Australia's Privacy Officer. Education Australia will respond within 30 days. Where access cannot be provided, for example because it is restricted by law, Education Australia will provide written reasons.
10. Complaints
10.1 Individuals with a concern about the handling of their personal information should first contact Education Australia's Privacy Officer. Education Australia will respond within 30 days.
10.2 An individual who is not satisfied with Education Australia's response may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
11. Amendments and Contact
11.1 Amendments. Education Australia may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version will be published on the Site with its effective date.
