So, what are head lice?  

Head lice are bloodsucking wingless insects, preferring warm and dark places on the scalp. Therefore, they are often found behind the ears, along the hairline and the neck. The colour of the lice can vary from sandy to nearly black then, after they have fed on blood, they become dark red. 

The life cycle has three stages: eggs, nymphs, and adults. The female louse attaches the eggs to the hair with a kind of glue, no more than one millimetre from the scalp. The eggs take 7-10 days to hatch. The development from nymph to lice takes approximately seven days. The adult female lice can then lay up to eight eggs per day.

How does LICENER work? 

The active ingredient in LICENER is Neem-extract, originating from the Neem tree. When applied according to the directions the extract covers, immobilises, and suffocates lice causing them to die. The Neem extract breaks down the protective shell of the eggs. Resulting in both lice and
nits being killed in a single treatment.  

LICENER works in two simple steps: Firstly, apply the shampoo to dry hair, using a sufficient amount of treatment to cover all of the hair and leave for ten minutes. Secondly, rinse the shampoo thoroughly using luke-warm water.  

Always read the label and use only as directed

It is not necessary to comb the hair or wash the hair with normal shampoo after treatment. We recommend treating the whole classroom and family if a lice infestation has been found on a student to prevent an outbreak of infestations.
