Thrust Floors: Close out FY26 with strategic flooring upgrades
As the end of the financial year approaches, many schools are reviewing budgets, confirming remaining capital works, and preparing projects that can be delivered over the mid-year break. Flooring upgrades often move quickly at this time of year, particularly where safety, compliance, or ageing surfaces are a concern.
Planning early gives schools more control over product selection, installation timing, and long-term outcomes. It also allows alignment with funding that is already allocated but not yet committed.

Funding opportunities to watch
Several infrastructure-focused funding streams remain active or are expected to reopen soon, creating a clear window for schools to progress flooring projects.
Schools Upgrade Fund – Capital Investments
– Supports major capital infrastructure projects in government schools, including new facilities, refurbishments, and upgrades such as flooring.
- Delivered through state and territory agreements.
- $215.77 million allocated from Round 2 through to 31 December 2027.
Building Fund for Non-Government Schools – Islamic Schools
– Provides capital works funding for Islamic non-government schools, supporting projects such as new builds, upgrades, and refurbishments, including flooring.
-Funding ranges from $1 to $6 million, with applications open until the allocation is exhausted under a $30 million program.
Positioning projects early ensures they are ready to submit when applications open or when additional funding is released.
Where flooring delivers immediate impact
Flooring sits at the intersection of safety, durability, and day-to-day performance. Schools are prioritising upgrades in areas that experience the highest wear or where compliance is critical:
- Science labs and STEM spaces requiring chemical resistance and easy maintenance
- Workshops and vocational training areas where durability and slip resistance are essential
- Corridors and high-traffic zones that need long-term resilience
- Multipurpose spaces where acoustics and comfort support learning outcomes

Targeted upgrades in these environments can reduce ongoing maintenance costs while improving usability for staff and students.
Why AIR-THRUST continues to lead
AIR-THRUST flooring systems are designed for education environments where performance and reliability are non-negotiable. Installation is efficient, disruption is minimal, and the finished surface is built to handle sustained daily use.
Each system is tailored to the specific demands of the space, whether that is moisture management, acoustic control, or heavy-duty wear resistance. Thrust flooring solutions perform consistently and support the broader function of the facility.
