Young Athletes: Building healthy, confident and active students
Supporting student wellbeing is about more than academic success. As schools continue to prioritise the health, wellbeing, and engagement of young people, regular physical activity plays an important role in helping students develop confidence, resilience, social skills, and lifelong healthy habits. Quality sporting and fitness programs can create opportunities for students to stay active, connected, and engaged while supporting both their physical and mental wellbeing.

With a strong focus on inclusion and long term wellbeing, Young Athletes helps students build a positive relationship with physical activity through both traditional sports and innovative fitness programs.
Designed for primary, secondary, and homeschool students across NSW, all programs are curriculum aligned and delivered by experienced coaches who create engaging and supportive learning environments.
Purposeful Programs That Engage Every Student
Each Young Athletes program is carefully designed to balance skill development, participation, and enjoyment. Lessons are structured to help students progressively develop physical literacy, teamwork, communication, and confidence, while ensuring every student feels supported to participate regardless of their experience or ability level.
The organisation’s facilitators bring enthusiasm, professionalism, and a passion for sport to every session, helping students develop new skills while fostering a positive attitude towards movement and exercise.

Curriculum Aligned Sports and Fitness Programs
Schools can choose from 15 sport specific programs, including AFL, athletics, basketball, cricket, football (soccer), hockey, rugby league, rugby union, tennis, touch football, volleyball, ultimate frisbee and more.
Programs are adapted to suit different year levels and abilities, ensuring both beginners and experienced participants remain challenged and engaged.
Young Athletes also offers three signature programs designed to support key curriculum
outcomes:
- The Young Athlete – Develops fundamental movement skills including running,
catching, throwing, kicking, agility, coordination, and reaction time. - The Young Mastermind – Combines physical activity with communication, teamwork,
leadership, problem solving, and strategic thinking. - The Young Titan – A high energy fitness program focused on strength, endurance,
and helping students discover enjoyable ways to stay active beyond traditional team
sports.
Supporting Schools Through Sporting Schools Funding
All 15 sport specific programs are eligible for Sporting Schools funding, enabling many schools to access high quality sporting experiences at no cost. This provides schools with an opportunity to expand physical activity offerings while supporting student wellbeing and participation.
Beyond the Classroom
Young Athletes programs are also available for vacation care and OSHC providers, with flexible session formats designed to suit school holiday programs and one off events. By creating positive sporting experiences and encouraging active lifestyles, Young Athletes aims to help students develop the skills, confidence, and motivation needed to maintain healthy, active lives well beyond their school years.
