Thrust Floors: Unlock Summer Sports Potential with New Funding Opportunities

Summer is the busiest time of year for schools. Gyms, halls, and stages are full of activity. Daily PE classes, weekend tournaments, school performances, and community events put your facilities to the test. Every step, jump, and sprint impacts your flooring. Well-planned, high-quality floors make all the difference. They protect students, support performance, and create spaces that reflect your school’s commitment to excellence.

At Thrust Floors, we help schools across Australia prepare for summer with flooring solutions built to handle high traffic and high expectations. Whether you are installing a new gym floor, resurfacing a hall, or improving stage spaces, our “AIR-THRUST” sprung timber flooring system is designed to meet the demands of school life. Upgrading now ensures your facilities stay safe, functional, and durable through the season and for years to come.

Plan ahead for summer upgrades

Summer is the ideal time for flooring projects. With fewer classes and events on-site, installations can proceed more efficiently. Schools can minimise disruption while improving spaces that will see heavy use throughout the year. Our “AIR-THRUST” flooring absorbs impact, reduces fatigue, and enhances every movement on the court or stage. It is engineered for comfort, safety, and long-lasting performance. A smooth parquet finish eliminates visible gaps and reduces maintenance, while our 35-year warranty ensures your investment is protected.

Upgrading flooring now is an opportunity to enhance student wellbeing, improve safety, and create spaces that inspire learning and activity.

Several programs are available to help schools fund sports and recreation upgrades this summer:

School Subsidy Scheme (SSS) – Queensland State Schools

External Infrastructure Subsidy Scheme (EISS) – Queensland Non-State Schools
Accredited non-state schools that are eligible for government funding can apply for one-off grants to cover external infrastructure costs, including passenger pick-up and set-down areas, headworks contributions, or other capital works associated with new developments. Applications are assessed by the relevant Capital Assistance Authority (CAA), which makes recommendations to the Minister for Education. Funding is allocated annually based on sector enrolments.
This is an ongoing program and schools should contact their CAA early to plan projects.

Our team can help you design and scope projects to align with these grant programs, giving your school the best chance to secure funding and complete upgrades in time for summer.
