Mindfulness For Education (MFE): Before you turn the page… this matters
Every year on May 22nd I take a moment. It’s the anniversary of the day I nearly ended my life at 17.
The only thing that stopped me was my parents. I couldn’t do that to them. They didn’t deserve it.
When the tears stopped I sat quietly and asked myself one question. How did I get here…

Two things. That’s all it was.
I felt like I didn’t belong.
And I didn’t think anyone cared.
I spent the next few decades trying to figure out what could have helped that kid. Not a program. Not a poster on a wall. Something that actually reaches inside you and quietly changes something.
You can’t always name it. But you feel it.
I found it in mindfulness. Became a certified practitioner. Started building sessions.
And I thought about everyone. Not just the kids doing it tough. The ones who just want to be better. The teachers who are exhausted but still showing up. The parents holding everything together with both hands. The teacher aides. The office staff. The cleaners…
Everyone in your school deserves this. Because everyone in your school is carrying something.
There’s someone in your community right now who’s where I was at 17.
I don’t know their name and you might not either.
This is for them, and for you.
